A vulnerability was found in IBM WebSphere Commerce up to 6.0.0.11/7.0.0.9/8.0.0.2 (Application Server Software). It has been classified as problematic. The weakness was released 03/03/2016 as swg21975774 / 1975774 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at www-01.ibm.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2016-0208 since 12/08/2015. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. WebSphere Commerce is vulnerable to a denial of service attack where an unauthenticated attacker could manipulate sensitive information that could prevent another user from completing their order.
Upgrading to version 8.0.0.3 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying the patch JR54988 is able to eliminate this problem. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
