Multiple vulnerabilities existed in libpng versions prior to 1.6.20. These were addressed by updating libpng to version 1.6.20.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 88692 (SUSE SLES12 Security Update : java-1_8_0-ibm (SUSE-SU-2016:0390-1) (SLOTH)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family SuSE Local Security Checks and running in the context l. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 350087 (Amazon Linux Security Advisory for libpng: ALAS-2015-615).

Upgrading to version 10.11.4 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
