A vulnerability was found in Asbru Web Content Management 9.2.7. It has been rated as critical. This issue affects some unknown processing of the file login_post.jsp. The manipulation of the argument url with an unknown input leads to a redirect vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-601. A web application accepts a user-controlled input that specifies a link to an external site, and uses that link in a Redirect. This simplifies phishing attacks. Impacted is integrity.
The weakness was disclosed 04/06/2016 as File 136591 (Packetstorm). It is possible to read the advisory at packetstormsecurity.com. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1204.001 according to MITRE ATT&CK.
The exploit is available at exploit-db.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:login_post.jsp it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
