A vulnerability was found in VMware Zimbra (Groupware Software) (the affected version unknown). It has been declared as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown part of the file src/php/aspell.php. The manipulation of the argument dictionary with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. As an impact it is known to affect integrity.
The weakness was shared 04/05/2013 by Michael Scherer as not defined mailinglist post (oss-sec). It is possible to read the advisory at seclists.org. The vendor was not involved in the public release. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2013-1938 since 02/19/2013. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely.
