The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross-site request forgery vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-352. The web application does not, or can not, sufficiently verify whether a well-formed, valid, consistent request was intentionally provided by the user who submitted the request. As an impact it is known to affect availability.
The weakness was disclosed 05/04/2004 by JeiAr with Gulftech (Website). The advisory is shared for download at gulftech.org. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details and also a exploit are known.
After before and not just, there has been an exploit disclosed. It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:admin/forums.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
