A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Stories_Archive Module on PHP-Nuke (version unknown). This issue affects an unknown function. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Impacted is integrity.
The bug was discovered 05/17/2004. The weakness was shared 05/17/2004 by Janek Vind "waraxe" with waraxe (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at waraxe.us. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2004-0731. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are unknown but an exploit is available.
