win32k.sys in the kernel-mode drivers in Microsoft Windows XP SP3, Windows Server 2003 SP2, Windows Vista SP2, Windows Server 2008 SP2, Windows 7 Gold and SP1, and Windows 8 allows local users to cause a denial of service (reboot) via a crafted OpenType font, aka "OpenType Font Parsing Vulnerability" or "Win32k Font Parsing Vulnerability."
The weakness was presented 04/09/2013 by Wang Yu as MS13-036 as confirmed bulletin (Microsoft Technet). The advisory is shared for download at technet.microsoft.com. The public release was coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2013-1291 since 01/12/2013. It is possible to launch the attack remotely.
