A vulnerability was found in HPE Vertica up to 7.2.2 and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is an unknown code block of the component Analytics Management Console. The validateAdminConfig handler in the Analytics Management Console in HPE Vertica 7.0.x before 7.0.2.12, 7.1.x before 7.1.2-12, and 7.2.x before 7.2.2-1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via the mcPort parameter, aka ZDI-CAN-3417.
The weakness was shared 04/20/2016 as ZDI-CAN-3417 as not defined advisory (Website) via ZDI (Zero Day Initiative). The advisory is shared for download at zerodayinitiative.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2016-2002 since 01/21/2016. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
