The manipulation of the argument SYS.KUPV$FT_INT with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
The bug was discovered 11/01/2005. The weakness was disclosed 01/17/2006 by Alexander Kornbrust with Red-Database-Security GmbH (Full-Disclosure). The advisory is shared at archives.neohapsis.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2006-0586. The attack can be launched remotely. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1505 for this issue.
A public exploit has been developed in Perl. It is possible to download the exploit at securityfocus.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 77 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $5k-$25k. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 19197 (Oracle January Security Update Multiple Vulnerabilities (January 2006)).
Upgrading eliminates this vulnerability.
