A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in QNX Neutrino RTOS (Operating System) (the affected version unknown). This issue affects the function ApFindTranslationFile of the component libAP. The manipulation of the argument ABLPATH as part of a Environment Variable leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
The bug was discovered 12/15/2005. The weakness was presented 02/07/2006 by Filipe Balestra (Website). The advisory is shared at idefense.com. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
