A vulnerability has been found in Instant Photo Gallery (Photo Gallery Software) (affected version not known) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects some unknown functionality of the file portfolio_photo_popup.php. The manipulation of the argument id with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:

Multiple SQL injection vulnerabilities in Instant Photo Gallery 1 and earlier allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the (1) cat_id parameter in portfolio.php and (2) cid parameter in content.php.

The weakness was presented 04/26/2006 by Steven M. Christey as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is shared for download at archives.neohapsis.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2005-3986. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
