A vulnerability was found in PHP-Fusion (Content Management System) (the affected version is unknown) and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is an unknown code of the file setup.php. The manipulation of the argument localeset with an unknown input leads to a privileges management vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-269. The product does not properly assign, modify, track, or check privileges for an actor, creating an unintended sphere of control for that actor. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
The weakness was presented 05/08/2006 by retrogod (Website). The advisory is shared for download at archives.neohapsis.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2006-2330. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1068.
A public exploit has been developed by rgod and been published immediately after the advisory. The exploit is available at exploit-db.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:setup.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
