A vulnerability was found in Dolphin (Social Network Software) (the affected version unknown). It has been rated as critical. This issue affects an unknown part of the file profile_edit.php. The manipulation of the argument dir[inc] with an unknown input leads to a privileges management vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-269. The product does not properly assign, modify, track, or check privileges for an actor, creating an unintended sphere of control for that actor. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
The weakness was presented 08/14/2006 by Charles Nelwan a.k.a Cmaster4. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2006-4189. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details as well as a exploit are known. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1068 according to MITRE ATT&CK.
