A vulnerability was found in PHP iCalendar (Programming Language Software) (version now known). It has been rated as problematic. This issue affects some unknown processing of the file preferences.php. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Impacted is integrity.
The bug was discovered 12/20/2006. The weakness was shared 12/27/2006 by Lostmon Lords (Website). The advisory is shared at lostmon.blogspot.com. The attack may be initiated remotely. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059.007 for this issue.
