A vulnerability was found in OpenBSD 3.2/3.4/3.5 (Operating System) and classified as problematic. This issue affects the function login_radius of the component Radius. login_radius on OpenBSD 3.2, 3.5, and possibly other versions does not verify the shared secret in a response packet from a RADIUS server, which allows remote attackers to bypass authentication by spoofing server replies.
The bug was discovered 09/21/2004. The weakness was released 09/22/2004 by Eilko Bos (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at secunia.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2004-2163 since 07/10/2005. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
