A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in SAP NetWeaver (Solution Stack Software) (unknown version). This affects an unknown code block of the component ConfigServlet. The manipulation as part of a GET Request leads to a privileges management vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-269. The product does not properly assign, modify, track, or check privileges for an actor, creating an unintended sphere of control for that actor. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
The weakness was disclosed 11/01/2012 by Dmitry Chastuchin with ERPScan as not defined advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at service.sap.com. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with SAP. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1068 for this issue.
A public exploit has been developed by Andras Kabai and been published immediately after the advisory. The exploit is shared for download at exploit-db.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept.
