VMware vCenter Server 5.1 before Update 1, when anonymous LDAP binding for Active Directory is enabled, allows remote attackers to bypass authentication by providing a valid username in conjunction with an empty password.

The weakness was disclosed 04/25/2013 with Vmware as VMSA-2013-0006 as not defined advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at vmware.com. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with VMware. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2013-3107 since 04/17/2013. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1068 for this issue.
