A vulnerability was found in Apache Tomcat up to 7.0.32 (Application Server Software). It has been classified as critical. Affected is an unknown code block of the component FORM Authentication Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a improper authentication vulnerability. java/org/apache/catalina/authenticator/FormAuthenticator.java in the form authentication feature in Apache Tomcat 6.0.21 through 6.0.36 and 7.x before 7.0.33 does not properly handle the relationships between authentication requirements and sessions, which allows remote attackers to inject a request into a session by sending this request during completion of the login form, a variant of a session fixation attack.
The weakness was shared 05/10/2013 by Mark Thomas with Oracle as not defined mailinglist post (Bugtraq). The advisory is shared for download at seclists.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2013-2067 since 02/19/2013. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available.
