Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) Automation in Microsoft Windows XP SP3 does not properly allocate memory, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted RTF document, aka "OLE Automation Remote Code Execution Vulnerability."
The issue has been introduced in 03/16/2010. The weakness was published 05/14/2013 with ZDI as MS13-037 as confirmed bulletin (Microsoft Technet). The advisory is shared for download at technet.microsoft.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2013-1313 since 01/12/2013. The attack may be launched remotely. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
