A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Google Chrome 50 (Web Browser). Affected by this issue is an unknown code block of the component Loader. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a race condition vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-362. The product contains a code sequence that can run concurrently with other code, and the code sequence requires temporary, exclusive access to a shared resource, but a timing window exists in which the shared resource can be modified by another code sequence that is operating concurrently. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
The weakness was disclosed 05/11/2016 by Mariusz Mlynski as Stable Channel Update, May 2016 as confirmed release notes (Blogspot). The advisory is available at googlechromereleases.blogspot.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2016-1670 since 01/12/2016. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
