A vulnerability classified as critical was found in Google Chrome up to 50 (Web Browser). This vulnerability affects an unknown functionality of the file extensions/renderer/gc_callback.cc of the component Garbage Collection Handler. extensions/renderer/gc_callback.cc in Google Chrome before 50.0.2661.94 does not prevent fallback execution once the Garbage Collection callback has started, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (use-after-free) or possibly have unspecified other impact via unknown vectors.
The weakness was disclosed 05/14/2016 by Atte Kettunen with OUSPG (Website). The advisory is available at crbug.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2016-1662 since 01/12/2016. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
