The weakness was released 05/16/2016 by Jack Tang (lokihardt) with Trend Micro as HT206567 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at support.apple.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2016-1795 since 01/13/2016. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack needs to be approached locally. Required for exploitation is a single authentication. It is assigned to the family MacOS X Local Security Checks and running in the context c. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 122912 (Apple Mac OS X v10.11.5 and Security Update 2016-003 Not Installed (APPLE-SA-2016-05-16-4)).
Upgrading to version 10.11.5 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
