Details
A vulnerability classified as critical was found in XenSource Xen 4.4/4.5/4.6 (Virtualization Software). Affected by this vulnerability is the function p2m_teardown of the file arch/arm/p2m.c of the component Driver Domain Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a null pointer dereference vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-476. A NULL pointer dereference occurs when the application dereferences a pointer that it expects to be valid, but is NULL, typically causing a crash or exit. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
The p2m_teardown function in arch/arm/p2m.c in Xen 4.4.x through 4.6.x allows local OS guest users with access to the driver domain to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and host OS crash) by creating concurrent domains and holding references to them, related to VMID exhaustion.
