EMC Data Domain OS 5.4 through 5.7 before 5.7.2.0 has a default no_root_squash option for NFS exports, which makes it easier for remote attackers to obtain filesystem access by leveraging client root privileges.
The weakness was disclosed 06/19/2016 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at seclists.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2016-0911 since 12/17/2015. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
