Google Chrome before 27.0.1453.93 does not properly perform a cast of an unspecified variable during handling of clipboard data, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service or possibly have other impact via unknown vectors.
The weakness was released 05/21/2013 by Jon Butler with MWR Labs/InfoSecurity as 230176 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at code.google.com. The public release was coordinated with Google. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2013-2839 since 04/11/2013. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.
It is declared as proof-of-concept. We expect the 0-day to have been worth approximately $5k-$25k.
