A vulnerability has been found in Apache Subversion (Versioning Software) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects the function svnlook changed of the file contrib/hook-scripts/svn-keyword-check.pl. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a input validation vulnerability. contrib/hook-scripts/svn-keyword-check.pl in Subversion before 1.6.23 allows remote authenticated users with commit permissions to execute arbitrary commands via shell metacharacters in a filename.
The weakness was disclosed 05/31/2013 by Daniel Shahaf with elego Software Solutions GmbH as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at subversion.apache.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2013-2088 since 02/19/2013. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack can be initiated remotely.
