Tollgrade LightHouse SMS before 5.1 patch 3 provides different error messages for failed authentication attempts depending on whether the username exists, which allows remote attackers to enumerate account names via a series of attempts.
The weakness was released 07/15/2016 by Ashish Kamble with Qualys (Website). The advisory is shared at ics-cert.us-cert.gov. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2016-5797 since 06/23/2016. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely.
