A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in vBulletin 5.2.0/5.2.1/5.2.2 (Forum Software). Affected is an unknown function of the component Media Upload. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a server-side request forgery vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-918. The web server receives a URL or similar request from an upstream component and retrieves the contents of this URL, but it does not sufficiently ensure that the request is being sent to the expected destination. The advisory is available at legalhackers.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2016-6483 since 07/27/2016. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The bugfix is ready for download at members.vbulletin.com. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be patching the affected component.
