A vulnerability has been found in DotNetNuke up to 8.0.0 (Content Management System) and classified as problematic. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the user-profile biography section in DotNetNuke (DNN) before 8.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via a crafted onclick attribute in an IMG element.
The weakness was disclosed 08/31/2016 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at dnnsoftware.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2016-7119 since 08/31/2016. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. The requirement for exploitation is a single authentication.
