The issue has been introduced in 11/17/2003. The weakness was published 06/11/2013 by Andrew Lyons and Neel Mehta with Google Inc. as MS13-051 as confirmed bulletin (Microsoft Technet). The advisory is shared at technet.microsoft.com. The public release has been coordinated with Microsoft. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2013-1331 since 01/12/2013. The exploitability is told to be difficult. An attack has to be approached locally. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a private exploit is available.
