A vulnerability has been found in Samsung IP Camera (Network Camera Software) (version now known) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects some unknown processing of the component URL Validator. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The product does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes user-controllable input before it is placed in output that is used as a web page that is served to other users. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in Samsung SHR-5162, SHR-5082, and possibly other models, allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the PATH_INFO.
The weakness was presented 06/12/2013 by Eliezer Varadé Lopez, Javier Repiso Sánchez and Jonás Ropero Castillo as not defined mailinglist post (Full-Disclosure). The advisory is shared for download at seclists.org. The public release happened without coordination with the vendor. This vulnerability was named CVE-2013-3964 since 06/06/2013. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1059.007.
