A vulnerability was found in Charybdis up to 3.5.2 and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is the function m_authenticate of the file modules/m_sasl.c. The m_authenticate function in modules/m_sasl.c in Charybdis before 3.5.3 allows remote attackers to spoof certificate fingerprints and consequently log in as another user via a crafted AUTHENTICATE parameter.
The weakness was disclosed 09/21/2016 by Antoine (Website). The advisory is shared for download at debian.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2016-7143 since 09/05/2016.
