A vulnerability has been found in Pidgin up to 2.10.x (Messaging Software) and classified as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is some unknown functionality of the component Splash Image Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a privileges management vulnerability (File). The weakness was shared 06/21/2016 by Yves Younan with Cisco Talos as not defined advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at pidgin.im. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2016-4323 since 04/27/2016. The attack can be launched remotely. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
