The weakness was disclosed 09/20/2016 by Meder Kydyraliev (Shrek_wzw) with Zero Day Initiative as HT207170 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at support.apple.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2016-4697 since 05/11/2016. The exploitation is known to be easy. An attack has to be approached locally. The successful exploitation requires a simple authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
