A vulnerability was found in Apple tvOS up to 9.x (Digital Media Player). It has been rated as critical. This issue affects an unknown function of the component WebKit. WebKit in Apple iOS before 10, tvOS before 10, iTunes before 12.5.1 on Windows, and Safari before 10 mishandles error prototypes, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted web site.
The weakness was released 09/20/2016 by Daniel Divricean as HT207142 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at support.apple.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2016-4728 since 05/11/2016. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. The advisory points out:
