A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in AVTECH IP Camera, NVR and DVR (Network Camera Software) (version now known). Affected is some unknown processing of the file /cgi-bin/nobody/VerifyCode.cgi of the component Captcha. The manipulation of the argument login with the input value quick leads to a improper authentication vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-287. We note that the above vulnerabilities were found within a short period of time without a systematic approach. Based on the vulnerability types we found and the overall code quality, the devices should contain much more problems.The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
