A vulnerability was found in FFmpeg (Multimedia Processing Software) and classified as problematic. This issue affects the function ogg_new_stream/ogg_read_page of the file libavformat/oggdec.c. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a denial of service vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-404. The product does not release or incorrectly releases a resource before it is made available for re-use. Impacted is availability.
The weakness was disclosed 12/22/2012 as confirmed git commit (GIT Repository). The advisory is shared at git.videolan.org.
