The weakness was presented 10/24/2016 by Juwei Lin (daybreaker@Minionz) with Recurity Labs as HT207275 as confirmed advisory (Website) via ZDI (Zero Day Initiative). The advisory is available at support.apple.com. The public release was coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability was named CVE-2016-4678 since 05/11/2016. The exploitation appears to be easy. Local access is required to approach this attack. The successful exploitation requires a single authentication.
