The `curl_getdate` function in curl before version 7.51.0 is vulnerable to an out of bounds read if it receives an input with one digit short.

The weakness was disclosed 11/03/2016 as 7.50.3 vulnerabilities as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at curl.haxx.se. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2016-8621 since 10/12/2016. The exploitation is known to be easy. An attack has to be approached locally. A simple authentication is necessary for exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
