A local code execution security vulnerability was identified in HP Network Node Manager i (NNMi) v10.00, v10.10 and v10.20 Software.

The weakness was disclosed 11/04/2016 as [security bulletin] HPSBGN03657 rev.1 - HPE Network Node Manager i (NNMi) Software, Local Code Execution as confirmed mailinglist post (Bugtraq). The advisory is available at seclists.org. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2016-4397 since 04/29/2016. The exploitability is told to be easy. Local access is required to approach this attack. A authentication is required for exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1059 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.

The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 370383 (HPE Network Node Manager i (NNMi) Local Code Execution Vulnerability).
