Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in CA Service Desk Manager (formerly CA Service Desk) 12.9 and 14.1 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the QBE.EQ.REF_NUM parameter.
The weakness was released 11/10/2016 by Jerold Hoong as CA20161109-02: Security Notice for CA Service Desk Manager / TEC1774903 as confirmed mailinglist post (Full-Disclosure). The advisory is shared for download at seclists.org. The public release was coordinated with the vendor. This vulnerability was named CVE-2016-9148. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
