Details
A vulnerability classified as problematic was found in Wireshark up to 2.2.1 (Packet Analyzer Software). Affected by this vulnerability is some unknown functionality of the file epan/dissectors/packet-alljoyn.c of the component AllJoyn Dissector. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. As an impact it is known to affect availability. The summary by CVE is:
In Wireshark 2.2.0 to 2.2.1 and 2.0.0 to 2.0.7, the AllJoyn dissector could crash with a buffer over-read, triggered by network traffic or a capture file. This was addressed in epan/dissectors/packet-alljoyn.c by ensuring that a length variable properly tracked the state of a signature variable.
