A vulnerability was found in Lepton CMS 2.2.2 (Content Management System). It has been declared as problematic. This vulnerability affects an unknown code. The web application does not, or can not, sufficiently verify whether a well-formed, valid, consistent request was intentionally provided by the user who submitted the request. The weakness was released 11/17/2016 by Tim Coen with Curesec Research Team as Lepton 2.2.2: CSRF, Open Redirect, Insecure Bruteforce Protection & Password Handling as confirmed mailinglist post (Full-Disclosure). The advisory is available at seclists.org. The public release was coordinated with the vendor. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.
