Memory leak in hw/net/eepro100.c in QEMU (aka Quick Emulator) allows local guest OS administrators to cause a denial of service (memory consumption and QEMU process crash) by repeatedly unplugging an i8255x (PRO100) NIC device.
The bug was discovered 12/09/2016. The weakness was presented 12/09/2016 by Li Qiang with 360.cn Inc. (Website). The advisory is shared at openwall.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2016-9101 since 10/28/2016. An attack has to be approached locally. A simple authentication is necessary for exploitation.
