A vulnerability was found in Apple tvOS up to 10.0 (Digital Media Player). It has been rated as critical. This issue affects an unknown part of the component Kernel. The bug was discovered 12/22/2016. The weakness was published 12/13/2016 by Ian Beer (daybreaker@Minionz) with Google Project Zero as HT207425 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at support.apple.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2016-7637 since 09/09/2016. The exploitation is known to be easy. An attack has to be approached locally. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. The advisory points out:
