A vulnerability has been found in Apple macOS up to 10.12.1 (Operating System) and classified as very critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown part of the component apache_mod_php. Multiple issues existed in PHP before 5.6.26. These were addressed by updating PHP to version 5.6.26.
The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 2 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $25k-$100k. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 900012 , which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 196592 (Ubuntu Security Notification for Php5, Php7.0 Vulnerabilities (USN-3095-1)).
Upgrading to version 10.12.2 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
