browser/extensions/api/tabs/tabs_api.cc in Google Chrome before 28.0.1500.71 does not properly enforce restrictions on the capture of screenshots by extensions, which allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information about the content of a previous page via vectors involving an interstitial page.
The weakness was disclosed 07/09/2013 by Dev Akhawe (danguafer) with Google Security Team as not defined changelog entry (Website). The advisory is available at googlechromereleases.blogspot.dk. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2013-2876 since 04/11/2013. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 05/18/2021).
