A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in FFmpeg up to 3.1.3 (Multimedia Processing Software). This affects the function read_gab2_sub of the file libavformat/avidec.c of the component AVI File Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a null pointer dereference vulnerability. The read_gab2_sub function in libavformat/avidec.c in FFmpeg before 3.1.4 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer used) via a crafted AVI file.
