A vulnerability was found in Google Android 6.0/6.0.1/7.0/7.1 (Smartphone Operating System) and classified as problematic. The bug was discovered 01/03/2017. The weakness was disclosed 01/01/2017 as Android Security Bulletin - January 2017 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at source.android.com. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with Google. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2017-0388 since 11/29/2016. An attack has to be approached locally. A simple authentication is necessary for exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1592 for this issue.
Upgrading eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
