A vulnerability was found in Google Android (Smartphone Operating System) (affected version not known). It has been declared as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is some unknown functionality of the component Kernel File System. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a use after free vulnerability. The bug was discovered 08/01/2015. The weakness was disclosed 01/05/2017 by Al Viro as Android Security Bulletin - January 2017 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at source.android.com. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with Google. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2015-5706 since 08/02/2015. An attack has to be approached locally. A single authentication is required for exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
